Propane Bulk Plant Operations

Visual Inspection & Requalification of Propane Cylinders (SO01)
This course is required for employees of any facility authorized by Transport Canada to conduct the visual inspection and requalification of propane cylinders.  The course covers the detailed inspection of TC and DOT cylinders required every 10 years and includes marking the cylinder, rejecting cylinders and recording inspection processes.

Visual Tank and PRV Inspections (SO02)
For individuals (such as bulk truck drivers and service technicians) who conduct recorded inspections of the Pressure Relief Valve on customer ASME storage tanks.

Evacuating Propane from Consumer Storage Tanks (SO03)
ASME propane storage tanks must have the Pressure Relief Valve replaced on a periodic basis (every 10 or 25 years, depending on the tank size).  The propane in the tank must be evacuated prior to servicing or transport and this course covers all aspects of evacuating the tank and flaring the residual product in the tank.

Propane Bulk Plant Operations & Maintenance (SO04)
Coming Soon!  This course covers how to conduct periodic (daily, weekly, monthly, annually) maintenance inspections to ensure the propane bulk plant remains in compliance with provincial operations and maintenance requirements.

 Field Testing for Ethyl Mercaptan in Propane (SO05)
This course is designed for propane plant field personnel who conduct testing for the presence of ethyl mercaptan in propane.  This course covers the approved “baggie method” for testing.
